Eve stayed with John and Gyp in Vera and Bob's house for two weeks whilst they were on holiday. She intended to continue hospital visits to Bill in 'Bury permitting Bob and Vera to get away. She took with her pouring rain between showers of which she hung Bill's washing out to dry. Having left it over night the following morning discovered the rain starting again. In her rush to prevent the washing getting too wet to iron she slipped and fractured her wrist. Wallowing in mud, nighty around her neck, unable to get up due to the wrist and a previous leg fracture weakness she called John for help which after disturbing his slumbers he administered. Eve failed to keep the washing or herself dry. After receiving treatment and a plaster cast she peaded with Neil's goldfish to cease their suicide attempts by jumping out of the tank. Subsequent to a scolding before retiring to bed the following morning 50% of the stock had demised. Eve insisted that John brought Gyp's brush with them to maintain him clean, tidy and comfortable. However it was left behind when she and John went home. Some two weeks later Graham and Anna made a special visit to collect it. It is speculated that the dog may some day recover from the ordeal. Prior visiting Eve made a plan to hide Bob and Vera's large china dog from Gyp for fear of breakage. A couple of weeks later it was broken by Tess, Vera's dog. Eve is doomed to fail in her endeavours.
