Party Pikelitical Broadsheet

Despite unfound criticism from the opposition the, "Party," will succeed. Any dissenters, individual or in groups, will be sequestrated until submission to the will of the minority. It is decreed that all the family and associates will attend an audience with the:- PIKEHAND
:- on 22^nd July 1989 at the palace of Cullen from 2.00pm onward.

Only Pikes are being sent this notice in order that by secret devious means they can press gang the unsuspecting into eating , drinking and enjoying the company on that date.

Even though you may like it you will be chastised should you fail to nominate a candidate for, "Pikehand of the Year 1989." Note that nominations from others than Pikes are required. Nomination as usual should be sent to Nick or Bryan in time for presentation at the party.

It is felt that entertainment this year should be a united Pike song perhaps the, "Pike Introduction," to include verses for new members or a completely new one. Ideas to Bob or Neil please. We'll arrange to meet at Graham's house to work it out but we won't give prior notice. As a further interest perhaps some of the cartoons from the weekend and of course the graffiti board.

With regard to food there will not be the usual A LA CARTE but a buffett. Responsibilities for provision of dishes will be quantified and delegated. Please keep note of the costs in order that the fund manager, ha! can pay you out. As in previous years should someone offer to contribute cash or kind, rather than cause embarrassment, accept it and pass to Pete for the funds.

PS. In addition, if the weather stays fine Nick has promised to bore us all with a demonstration of his barbeque.

A further party missive

This is the further response to the last letter to advise you of your duties. Don't forget the revised start time at Nick's house is now 15.00hrs in Saturday 22^nd July 1989. Pikes are responsible for advising those people who normally attend the party of the change, as this is only sent to Pikes.

Entertainment this year will be a united Pike song the, "Pike Introduction," to include verses for new members which Ray has already composed, so those idle among us can cease the panic of having to exert their grey matter and concentrate on serious boosing. As further interest perhaps some of the cartoons from the weekend and of course the graffiti board. Perhaps you could ask some younger and older people if they would like to contribute to the entertainment.

It is expected to award the PIKEHAND at the party and nominations are still required from Pikes and/or their families. Should you not assign a defenceless candidate to make a fool of him/herself you may find it's you.
